Intimate Community

A supportive community fostering individual transformation and spiritual growth through healthy relationships

The Vision

Many of us no longer have an idea of what community is, other than neighborhoods where people are friendly.  Communities used to be the place where people developed relationships, came to understand themselves, came to develop the skills needed to deal with life and achieve satisfying relationships, goals, and vision.  Community used to be where spirituality was nurtured and experienced.

The landscape is different today, and physical communities are impractical for most people, especially those who live in urban areas.  Their world is fractured into pieces - those they work with are not those they live with, and are not those they learn from or grow with.

Intimate Community is the name we've chosen for a new kind of community that seeks to regain some of the elements lost from our urban lifestyle, without demanding a physical structure like traditional communities.  Intimate Community seeks to restore community in the lives of people where they can have true intimacy - deeply knowing others and being deeply known - where many normal human needs can be met.

We seek to find a new structure to regain what has been lost.  Our bottom line is "what works" - we seek to discover and maintain the structures and tools that consistently bring us stable relationships, support when we need it, a feeling of belonging, people who know us well and whom we can get to know, a place to grow and learn from those who know us deeply, a place to be connected, a place where we can explore our purpose for being.
